BRINGING HOPE
CHANGING LIVES

HOPE worldwide empowers people to overcome poverty, homelessness and addiction.

Our international development work is focused on a wide range of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

In the UK, we help people experiencing homelessness find suitable accommodation, and those battling addiction to live transformed lives.

Volunteers are involved in most aspects of service delivery and work together with our expert staff. We also mobilise volunteers to work within their local communities supporting local needs.

Join us for the 2022 HOPE worldwide Challenge!

Watch Samantha Sokoya, Trustee for HOPE worldwide and Bruce Miller, Director of Recovery Services for HOPE worldwide, discuss the importance of the challenge, and provide instructions on how to sign up.

HOMELESS SERVICES

Helping Over 200 People A Year Find Housing

Our ‘Two Step’ programme works in partnership with night shelters, day centres, councils and other charities that refer people to us for help finding housing.

We help over 200 people experiencing homelessness to find suitable accommodation every year. For more details see the programme website www.twostep.org.uk

RECOVERY SERVICES

Helping Substance Misusers To Live In
Abstinent Recovery

ODAAT (One Day At A Time) is a holistic six-month residential programme that helps people break free from addiction which includes psychotherapy, one-on-one and group counselling, anger management, access to sport, yoga, peer support, life-skills training, family therapy and work experience. We have a capacity for 11 undergraduates in our first and second stages.

On completing the programme, ODAAT graduates have the option to enter our third stage supported houses and ongoing aftercare. Some access training programmes that can lead to NVQs in Health and Social Care – others stay in our supported third stage housing until they build other careers and the safe social networks that enable them to move into their own accommodation.

VOLUNTEERING

Trainee counsellors, office administration,
fundraising and more

Volunteers serve as trainee counsellors and provide floating support for our ODAAT programme. In our ‘Two Step’ programme, volunteers and placement students help with office admin, telephone support and client assessments.

In addition, many volunteers take part in fundraising events and community volunteer days.
